Welcome to America the land of open minds. I thank the Lord for making me an instrument of bringing his creation together, one couple at a time, creating harmony and peace among them. Over the years, I have officiated Inter-faith, inter-racial, and inter-ethnic and now it is a joy to officiant the inter-cultural wedding.
Over 200 weddings, I have learned about the nuances of so many cultures and religions that I am comfortable officiating any wedding.
When I decide to take on a couple to marry them, we go through an extensive process of meetings, first, it is an hour initial intensive zoom meeting to determine their needs, wants and issues. It will be followed by a questionnaire to assess the whole situation, and it also allows the couple to reflect on each other in-depth.
How Wedding Officiant Works
The marriage is between two individuals and the family’s support and cheers are important. I will be happy to talk with parents or guardians if they are reluctant about the marriage. Here is the general process
- The initial conversation with the Wedding Officiant Dr. Mike Ghouse
- A 30 points Questionnaire follows to design the wedding proceeding.
- A conversation about handling the differences.
- Guidance on handling religious festivals at ease.
- Dealing with raising children (if at all).
- Incorporate the Bride/Groom’s social, religious, or cultural traditions
- A draft outline of the ceremony will be prepared by the Officiant.
- The couple will review and modify the outline at least three times
- The officiant will perform the wedding per the agreed outline.
The wedding will start on time and close on time. The men and women who take the bold step to become one regardless of their origins, faiths, races, cultures, and ethnicities must be appreciated and applauded. They are setting a new standard on how to live in harmony despite their differences. They practice genuine pluralism, respect the otherness, and accept the God-given uniqueness of each individual. Marriage is a union of two individuals for happiness and harmonious living. Every living organism has a built-in GPS that brings two individuals together, and it is nature (God) that puts love between two individuals. The outline will be a step-by-step proceeding that will be prepared for you for the most critical event of your life; your wedding. And it will cover from the moment you step on the Stage/ Gazebo on your wedding day to the pronouncement that you are husband and wife. This will be a custom-tailored event proceeding with option items, and together we will make changes, additions, deletions, and corrections to the proceedings, and finally, you will approve it. It will be as you dreamt.
